Horizontal Landscape was the first project in my architectural schooling career that worked with a site I was able to physically visit, study, and analyze. Located within the UF Medical Plaza, Wilmot Gardens and the two adjacent parking garages was the site and situational context for the future development of the project program.
The program of the site was an inpatient memory care and research facility for the aging population. Specific spaces needing of design included: entry forum, administration, five small labs, one large lab, a main meeting hall, a secondary meeting hall, a data archive collection, and 15-16 residential units for the research participants.

With this in mind, I developed collages to get a better sense of the mod and atmosphere I wanted my project to have throughout its development both in narrative and physical construction. From there, I looked into the benefits nature exposure has on physical, mental, and social health and decided to structure my narrative around those benefits.
